Cody Hahn was born and raised in Sinton, Texas, where he attended local schools and graduated from Sinton High School in 2001.From an early age, Cody had a deep love for animals, wildlife, and the outdoors. As a kid, he could often be found exploring the countryside, looking for local wildlife and imagining himself as the next Steve Irwin.Many people in Sinton may know Cody from his years working as a veterinary assistant at the Sinton Veterinary Clinic. There, he helped care for the community’s pets, livestock, and just about any injured or displaced wildlife that crossed his path.Cody later continued his education and became an Emergency Medical Technician, serving in the medical field before eventually returning to work with animals in the surrounding area.In 2018, Cody brought his lifelong connection to the land and wildlife home in a new way when he founded Elemental Farm, a small-acreage regenerative farm in Sinton. Through farming, education, farmers markets, and community outreach, Cody has spent years demonstrating how responsible land stewardship can protect the soil, conserve water, and strengthen our local food system.His work incorporating regenerative agriculture, permaculture, water conservation, and organic growing practices earned him the 2026 District Award in Water and Soil Conservation from San Patricio Soil and Water Conservation District #324.Running for office was never part of Cody’s plan. But when he was asked to step forward and represent his community, the reason was impossible for him to ignore: water.Cody believes the Evangeline Aquifer must be managed responsibly, using sound science and long-term planning to protect the people, farms, wildlife, and communities that depend upon it. Economic and industrial growth can be important to our region, but that growth cannot come at the expense of the families and landowners whose wells depend on the same groundwater supply.Cody believes no small group should be allowed to benefit from excessive groundwater use while the surrounding community bears the consequences.Farming remains Cody’s true love, and protecting the land has become his life’s work. He is ready to bring that same commitment to the San Patricio County Groundwater Conservation District and represent the people who call this county home.Because the water beneath our feet should still be there for the generations of Texans who come after us.

Why are you running for the Groundwater Conservation District?
I’m running because groundwater is one of our community’s most important resources, and the decisions we make today will affect local families, farmers, landowners, wildlife, and future generations. I want our community to have a strong voice in how that resource is managed and protected.What is your top priority?
My top priority is protecting the Evangeline Aquifer from over-pumping. Groundwater is not an unlimited resource. I believe we need responsible management that considers the long term effects of pumping and protects the people and communities that depend on these aquifers.What experience do you bring to the board?
As a regenerative farmer and landowner, I work with our soil and water every day. I’ve spent years improving soil health, conserving water, and finding practical ways to grow while using fewer resources. In 2026, that work was recognized with the District #324 Soil and Water Conservation Award.Do you oppose all groundwater pumping?
No. Groundwater is essential to our homes, farms, businesses, and communities. I support responsible groundwater use. My concern is over-pumping and making decisions without adequately considering the long-term impact on the aquifer and the people who rely on it.Who will you represent?
Everyone in San Patricio County who depends on our groundwater. I believe residents, farmers, landowners, businesses, and future generations all have a stake in protecting this resource. If elected At-Large, my responsibility will be to serve the community and help ensure our groundwater remains available for generations to come.
